Colorado in 5 Days

I needed another vacation to recover from this vacation!

I'd never been to Colorado. Frankly, it wasn't even on my radar. My Type A bestie was planning a trip out west, and I decided to tag along.

Shout-out to Ford: our rental car was spacious, comfy and stylish. We named her Mt. BB!

We had a long list of places to see, things to do, yada yada yada. Five days wasn't enough to see EVERYTHING, but it was enough time to get me excited to go back.

If you're planning a trip to #ColoRADo, consider adding some of these places to your must-see list.

1. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre: I had a total "I feel so small -- this is surreal" moment. Unfortunately, while we were there, they didn't have any live events going on due to Covid. It was still really awesome to just be there, take pictures and stare at the beauty that is Red Rocks.

2. Denver: This city has so much to do, and we had so little time. The top of our list consisted of checking out street art. It did not disappoint. -- My next trip will include stopping by Denver Union Station.

3. Georgetown Loop Railroad: This experience is in Georgetown. The train ride is about an hour long. It takes you through the mountains in the area, you get to see the town from above and learn about the history. -- They operate rain or shine, so dress accordingly!

4. Maroon Bells: Running on 3-ish hours of sleep, we set out to find the perfect spot to watch the sun rise on Maroon Bells. In any other scenario, my eyelids would be hard to crack open, but I didn't want to miss a second of the sun rising. The view was indescribable. The pictures look like paintings.

5. Garden of the Gods: "How did those red rocks get there?" Great question! The rocks are big. Like really big. You can hike, bike, rock climb and just enjoy the views.

6. Manitou Incline: Adventure seekers, this is for you! You can climb the 2,768 steps! -- I was not prepared. At all. It was zero degrees and started snowing when we decided to do the climb, but it's so worth it to say that I did it.

This is a little preview of how the climb went:

Also worth seeing: Estes Park, Top of the Rockies at Independence Pass, Pikes Peak, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center
