Los Angeles Must-See Destinations

If you're reading this, chances are you are one of three things: looking to go to Los Angeles and interested in what to do there, you may already live in LA and want to get to know your city even more, OR are another blogger who wants to see how my list compares to yours. -- No matter where you'd place yourself on that list, welcome!

I've brainstormed my top 7 must-see destinations in Los Angeles and am sharing them with you. Yay!

I spent three weeks in LA. I'm not an expert on the city... not yet at least. It was my first time there, and I had a BIG list of things I wanted to do, see, try, and eat. It's a great guide for a first-time visitor, a Los Angeles native, or even someone heading back to #SoCal to soak up the sun and have some fun.

1. Santa Monica Pier: even if it’s just for a photo op, it’s beautiful! Hello, Pacific Park and that iconic ferris wheel! There are numerous places to eat (quite a nice variety for whatever mood you’re in). This is a great location to walk and see some other fun destinations in Santa Monica too.

2. Venice Beach Boardwalk: just a short drive from Santa Monica and well worth seeing at least once. There are street vendors and performers. — Close by is the “Venice” sign that is definitely worth getting a picture in front of... just be careful if you're feeling daring and try to stand in the middle of the street.

3. Venice Canals: while in the Venice area, check out the canals! It’s a great area to get a photo especially during the sunset.

4. Studio tour: I went on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in Burbank, and it was amazing! Seeing sets from my favorite shows (Gilmore Girls, Lucifer, Friends, Shameless, etc.) was so cool. For the TV/movie fans, definitely add a studio tour to your list.

5. Universal Studios Hollywood: it’s right in Universal City and close to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. If you’re trying to save some money, hit up CityWalk instead. There are shops for the whole family to enjoy, plus lots of restaurants that your tummy will love.

6. Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Urban Light: sure, you may have gotten a picture next to a streetlight before, but I bet you haven’t had your picture taken with 202 (unless of course you’ve been to LACMA)! Getting a photo here of yourself (or simply of all the other people posing with the lights) should be on your LA bucket list.

7. Griffith Observatory/the Hollywood sign: heading up to the Griffith Observatory right at sunrise is unlike any other sunrise I’ve experienced. This also gives you a great view of the city as well as the Hollywood Sign.

Also worth seeing: Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills, and Disneyland.
