Talenti hit the nail on the head with their new Layers pints! There are seven new gelato layers flavors -- each one is unique and unlike anything they’ve put out before.
Each pint has five layers consisting of gelato, pieces (cookies, oats, chocolate flakes, etc.), a sauce, more gelato and finally more pieces. -- You’re going to need a big spoon to scoop up all that flavor at once!
Let’s dive into these layers:
1. Black Raspberry Vanilla Parfait: black raspberry gelato, oat crisps, blueberry sauce, vanilla gelato, oat crisps.
-I felt healthy eating this mainly because it reminded me of a yogurt parfait… just not. This is definitely a must-try for all the fruit lovers.
2. Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake: cheesecake gelato, semi-sweet chocolate flakes, black cherry sauce, cheesecake gelato, graham cracker pieces.
-Cheesecake fans, rejoice! Grab this out of your freezer and hit the town.
3. Dark Chocolate Cherry: double dark gelato, chocolate flakes, black cherry sauce, double dark gelato, fudge truffles.
-Do you like chocolate covered cherries? If you answered ‘yes,’ this is the pint for you! I’m not a huge fan of them, but I devoured this pint.
4. Mint Fudge Cookie: Mediterranean mint gelato, chocolatey cookies, hot fudge, Mediterranean mint gelato, chocolate cookie pieces.
-I really like mint, and this pint didn’t let me down. It’s like eating a Thin Mint but in ice cream form.
5. Peanut Butter Vanilla Fudge: peanut butter gelato, peanut butter cups, hot fudge sauce, vanilla gelato, peanut butter cookie pieces.
-I love peanut butter cups, so I was excited to dig into this. To be honest, which I am being, I didn’t care for the peanut butter cookie pieces. The flavor and consistency weren’t my favorite.
6. Salted Caramel Truffle: sea salt caramel gelato, chocolatey cookies, dulce de leche, vanilla gelato, chocolatey caramel truffles.
-I cannot say enough good things about this flavor. I’m very biased because I LOVE caramel. The chocolatey caramel truffles are where it’s at. Not kidding. I would have loved another layer of those bad boys.
7. Vanilla Fudge Cookie: double dark gelato, chocolate cookie chunks, hot fudge sauce, Madagascan vanilla bean gelato, chocolatey waffle cones.
-If you aren’t feeling adventurous but know you like vanilla, fudge and cookies, this flavor is for you. Again, only being honest here, the chocolatey waffle cone pieces seemed stale to me… not sure if that’s the right way to describe them, but I would have preferred a fresh waffle cone. (Yes, I know that’s not possible.)
